I have to respect the fellow and thoroughly enjoyed hearing his talk on the Burn's show about WW2. 68.13.60.210 (talk) 00:08, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Shouldn't the official title of the article be Crow's full legal name (i.e. Joseph Medicine Crow-High Bird) and the abbreviated form of Joe Medicine Crow, Joseph Medicine Crow, and Medicine Crow be the redirects? Wolfpeaceful (talk) 14:48, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would support a move. On a related note, there seems to be confusion about whether his surname begins with M or C. The Library of Congress alphabetizes his name as "Medicine Crow, Joseph" (not "Crow, Joe M."). References by the Army to "Mr. Crow" should not mislead us. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 19:30, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't he have a name in his native language - like "Tatanka Yotanka" for "Sitting Bull" or "Tokai Itho" for "Crazzy Horse" ? (Sorry if my spelling is wrong, I'm not a native speaker). I cannot imagine that a native american person that old does not have a "real indian" name. It should be mandatory to remember. JB. --92.195.6.149 (talk) 10:09, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It does seem rather strange that the article mentions that "his Crow name meant High Bird" but not giving what that name is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.213.206 (talk) 01:26, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential "shout out"

[edit]

Shouldn't there be something about him receiving a "shout out" from Pres. Obama when all of the nation was waiting for the president to make his first remarks on the shooting at Ft. Hood? This was likely the first time so many people had heard of Dr. Joe Medicine Crow because it was covered live by most cable news networks. TexianPolitico (talk) 19:38, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Decorations Section

[edit]

Out of curiosity, why is the Crow war bonnet not included in the Decorations section of the article? It may not be a United Nations decoration, but the war bonnet has its own requirements to earn; it's not simply decoration clothing. Madamepestilence (talk) 14:53, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
